Stateless State Heads SSH

Don’t get fooled away by the title. This post is in no way related to __S__ecure __SH__ell. I’m agitated over the series of events that happened during the last couple of days primarily due to the splitting of A.P. and issues that had followed suit. Guess this blog would be a place to vent out my anger! All baaeedd words are either *ed out or spoonerised. Guess you can easily make out the words! 🙂 BTW, this will be my first blog in Tamil (colloquial, so don’t shoot me with an errata. All errors and mistakes are intended!). And I don’t think I would make reference to anyone (just to save myself :P). You can crack it. Not a big deal! Anyway, let’s begin.

My favourite tools

So, I was musing about what to blog next and had this idea of posting all the utilities/programs/services I frequently use and of course thank the person who influenced me with the software. I’m rather obsessed with many of these tools and if you think a tool you use is better than what I use, ping me @borncrusader at twitter or identi.ca 🙂 We’ll debate about it and possibly I’ll learn about the tool you use too. 😛

Trip to Coorg

So, we finally made it to Coorg/Kodagu on the 21st of November, 2009, Saturday. It was definitely a trip to cherish. We started from Bangalore on Friday night in Rajahamsa (:P KSRTC bus – eppadi ellam paeru vekkaraainga) and reached Coorg by about 6:15 on Saturday morning. We were received by our Guide/Home-stay provider Mr. Bopanna (This guy is a multi-millionaire in Coorg :o). We started clicking photos on our way to Cheliyandene from Madikeri. We saw the Kaveri river in her full bliss flowing under the sun who was trying his best to wade his way through fog and mist!

Confidence and Flash An Ode to Adobe and Macromedia

An event, 4 years back! Year 2005! I am at the Anna University Counseling. Toppers around me. Words of my mom ringing in my ears - “Take Aeronautical…” Words of my cousins - “Take ECE…” Words of Arul Sir - “Take CS…” I enter the hall with my dad. I get a spare terminal. ECE in CEG ruled out. A choice between CS in CEG and ECE in MIT. I went with ECE in MIT because it was closer to my place.

Where is modernisation leading us to

Another news for the media to bombard and make it a national issue. Over the past 3 days, all the news channels have been focusing on the harassment of the so called “modern women” in a pub in Mangalore. Members of the Sri Ram Sena entered a pub in Mangalore on Saturday, the 24th of January and attacked the women dancing there. The media has then started to blow this out of proportion. Journalists like Sagarika Ghosh and Barkha Dutt have been conducting chat sessions titled “Is India not ready for the modern woman?” or something else.

Microsoft Windows 7 and Open Source

You might be wondering why I have chosen such an eccentric title for this post. Microsoft and Open Source don’t go with each other. And if you are a Windoze bunny, you might have probably downloaded the beta version of the next installment of Windows, i.e Windows 7. If you haven’t you can check the screenshots here. If a first glance at the screenshots make you gape in awe, then you probably haven’t touched a glass of wine before. If it doesn’t look interesting to you then probably you drink a lot of wine. 😀 But what has wine to do with Windows. Wine has everything to do with Windows. Wine is a Windows Emulator for linux. 😀 Seeing the screenshots, I can only infer one thing. Microsoft is finally doing justice to the name of its OS. It’s quite evident that the previous versions didn’t have much transparency and subsequent versions have been having increased transparency. Who knows, probably Windows 15 will have a very high transparency that you can actually see your neighbour through your monitor just as you can through a window. Now I get the pun in the OS’s name. 😀
